Rev. John Malget
Senior Minister

RevJMalget@gmail.com

I am a nerd! A STAR TREK NERD!!! But don’t hold that against me. I grew up just north of here in Perry, so it was wonderful to move closer to home a number of years ago. With a Bachelor of Music Ed from Phillips U, I spent 15 amazing years teaching vocal music in Cushing, OK, while I studied at Phillips Theological Seminary. With my MDiv and being freshly ordained, I embarked on 9 wonderful years as Associate Pastor at Memorial Drive Christian Church in Houston, TX. I love worship and making music. But most of all, I have a passion for people. We have to find ways to love ourselves and to love each other. We are called to Love ALL the People of God’s world, not just those like ourselves. After we start working on that, there is a real need in our world to care for the least, the last, and the lost around us. I want all of us to do that together: me, my wife Sherri, Nick and Kristin-our two grown children, and the wonderful people of Disciples First—and that includes YOU!

Rev. Tom Harrison
Associate Minister

I was privileged to grow up immersed in Vocal and Instrumental Music, and after four years in the Navy, I then studied Art Education at OCU. Then came a sense of ministerial calling, which required more training. So, next, I attended Phillips Seminary and was ordained. After decades of creative pastoral ministry in Oklahoma and Texas, I studied to increase my knowledge of computers.  I’m still artistically inclined, enjoying visual art, music, writing, and other creative expressions. My wife, Raylene, and I have six grown children and almost twice that many grandchildren, so there is seldom a dull moment. Being at Disciples First has been a dream come true for us, and it’s hard to imagine a better church home.

Rev. Bradley Havenar
Director of Outreach & Digital Ministries

Bradley Havenar brings heart, humor, and holy mischief to everything he does.

I’m a justice-seeker, a Jesus-lover, and a sacred troublemaker—in the best sense of the word. I grew up right here in Oklahoma and served in the U.S. Marine Corps before God turned my heart toward healing instead of war. Along the way, I’ve wrestled with faith, deconstructed toxic theology, and discovered new life in the radical, inclusive love of Jesus of Nazareth.

With a heart for digital ministry and community outreach, I’m passionate about helping people reconnect with the historical Jesus, whose message was always about justice, compassion, and courageous love. My wife, my kids, and I are walking this journey together, and I’m grateful to do it alongside the beautiful community at Disciples First.

I believe church isn’t about perfection or performance—it’s about people. All people. So, whether you’ve been hurt by religion, are just curious, or are looking for something real, I want you to know: there’s a place for you here.

Lisa Moore
Chalice Kids Director

DisciplesFirstOKC@gmail.com

All my life, I have loved children.  When I was younger, I just thought being a pediatric nurse was my destiny, or maybe even military life!  Finally, I settled on being a teacher.  I went to the University of Central Oklahoma and got a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.  I have over 22 years of experience teaching Pre K and 3 years of teaching infants/toddlers.  Now I’m looking forward to being the Chalice Kids Director.  I almost forgot, please come and join us in Chalice Kids!

Brigitte Taylor
Chalice Youth Director

DisciplesFirstOKC@gmail.com

Many have called me a well-rounded person, and I can understand why. I was born in Alaska and lived in Texas, California, and Nevada, and I’ve got family from New Jersey, Virginia, Mississippi, Indiana, and more! I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, and have worked towards my Master’s in Educational Technology at Oklahoma State University. I worked as a preschool teacher for several years and have worked in educational technology spaces for several more. I am ecstatic to help develop the minds of our future as your youth minister! Please try to visit us Sunday mornings for youth Bible study with Mrs. Sally, and join us Wednesday evenings during the school year for different youth study series.
